GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. This year, we regret we were unable to attend our local Great Strides walk. I had surgery the week prior and Scott hurt his leg and was on crutches. Needless to say we were in no condition to walk. It also rained all day again. None the less thank you for support and donations! We were able to raise 60.00 online. It seems every year something always happens that we are able to raise money and not walk. Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF.

Great Strides was a success despite the terrible weather. In NY and New England it has rained 11 of the last 12 days causing flooding in many areas in Mass. Today was no exception. It poured from the time we left the house until we got home... Then the sun came out. The girls grandparents Bonnie and Bob and their aunt Jenn and Uncle Bob went with us. We all went out to breakfast at the cracker barrel beforehand, which was very nice. We did go to the walk, however we did not actually walk. It was just down pouring and we had the girls with us and did not want them to get all wet. Miranda was ready and willing to walk. Though I think she would not have wanted to once she got outside. This years walk was at a fire department. Where they have a pavilion. They had a DJ from a local radio station, concessions, door prizes, games for the kids, a clown and other tables set up. There was also a 5 K run. Thank you to everyone who supported us and donated!

We exceeded our fundraising goal this year and raised $200.00 for Great Strides! Thank you everyone!

We were able to attend this years great strides walk in Manchester, CT. It was a damp 50 degrees and we were  freezing! It was a gray day, though it did not rain while we walked. I think it has rained every time we have walked. We exceeded our goal. We raised a total of $280.00 ! Thank you to all that helped us exceed our goal. Click on the images below to share our day.
